Every single morning from 3:00-6:00 am, I get up just to hone my drumming skills.
Every day.
Always.
Every single year I re-evaluate my commitment towards achieving my goals as a drummer.
Every year
I re-commit.
Always.
It’s been 30 yrs. since I first started
And…
I’ve been derailed more times than I can possibly count
And…
I still have a very long ways to go.
I’m now stepping up to research the benefits of drumming, in order to share my findings with others.
Am I afraid I’m going to fail?
Yes
Am I going to do it anyways?
Yes
Why?
Because, it’s who I am
And…
I want to demonstrate to my 3 daughters, how to see opportunity beyond the barriers of conventional thinking, and help expand the confidence of anyone else who might dare to follow their own dreams, no matter how impossible it seems.
Am I crazy?
No.
Passionate?
Yes!
(Update January 28, 2012: I finally have the chance to change my extreme morning routine. I’m now learning how to stay up past 9:00pm)
